Monday, February 6, 2012 at 12:39PM Hey Guys!
This weekend I went to New Hampshire with my sister and her husband's family on a snow boarding trip! It was a lot of fun, take a peek!

We were deep in the mountains. My sister and her husband know all the great hiking, boarding spots! Isn't it so beautiful?

My sister was in charge of the roaring fire; she's a pro. #ProudLittleSis

Unfortunately I didn't hit the slopes this time. I am TERRIFIED of down-hill skiing/boarding. Last time Filipe tried teaching me how to board, I got mad and ended up trading it in for skis, which I thought would be easier for me since I remember doing well as a kid. But I ended up sucking majorly, and getting stranded on top of the mountain, having to take off my skis and crawl down on hands and knees. All while countless young kids (and Filipe) went zipping by me. It was terrifying, lol... but really.
So I wanted to take some professional lessons before we went on this trip, but didn't have time, so I stayed in the lodge with my sister and her sister-in-law. It was so much fun anyway, people were ripping it down those steep hills! I'll definitely be making sure I get some lessons before the season's over. I'm ready for some hill action!
In the lodge there was a live band playing everything from Bob Marley to Carlos Santana! Samual Adams Brewery had their team there promoting the brand, giving out hats, t-shirts, and bottle openers with their logo. They were also holding a raffle to win a pair of skis and bindings, and my sister won!! It was so exciting! She had so many tickets on the table, and when they called the winning number I screamed "Oh my God, You Woooon!!!" and threw the ticket in her face! I don't know why I expected her to catch it, Lol! Anyway, they were a pair of really nice $600 skis!!

We left on Sunday to head back to Massachusetts to watch the Superbowl with my parents and cousin!

Mom, the party-planner extraordinare, made a whole slew of goodies for the game, including these pork carnita burritos!
She's super organized, so she insisted that we all put our names on our cups with a Sharpie marker so we don't waste cups (good thinking mom!) Can you tell whose cup this is: ???

Lol, thanks Dad!

Anyway, the Patriots lost #SadFace, but that's okay, you can't win them all! Hopefully we'll be back next year!
*SideNote: Brady, get it together man! If your Hollywood life with Giselle is getting in the way, get your butt back to the Bean so you can toughen up and regroup! In the thickest Bahstin accent I can drum up: "Toughen up, Yah Gettin' Wickid Sahft!" We need another Trophy in Title-Town!
Did you watch the Superbowl this weekend!? How did you celebrate? Let me know in the comments below!
XoXo

It's around 9:30pm on Christmas and I'm currently surrounded by family, watching The Good Wife. I thought it was the perfect time to stop in and say "Merry Christmas!"

We went to my parent's house, of course, and got a chance to relax. My nephew was definitely the winner of the gift-giving, receiving a ridiculously large amount of Spiderman and Ironman gear. It was a pretty relaxing and fun day spent with family and LOTS of food!
I hope you all had a great holiday! How did you spend yours? Tell me below!
xoxo Whit

Just winding down from my trip to New York yesterday, and oh man... it was fun, lol!
I decided super last minute to attend the Curl Crush event organized by the wonderful Curly Girl Collective team! And when I say "super last minute" I mean at 9pm the night before... oh and did I mention I live in Massachusetts!? So around 12am, my wonderful hubby Filipe and I hopped in our car, like the ninja-bosses we are, and took the 4-hour drive to the city, where our old high school friend, Justin, graciously took us in for the night.
So 3-hours later we're out and about exploring the lively city of New York, with Justin as our tour guide!

Unfortunately, it was a rainy day yesterday... I started out with fresh makeup and a full head of perfectly placed, mini-twisted spiral curls for the event! But due to my lack of an umbrella, hoodie, old-grandma weird plastic cap...thingy... my makeup was no longer, and curls quickly vanished, only to be replaced by shribbly, soggy, mini twists... lol... oh well, I tried!

But regardless, it was so much fun walking through Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Soho; checking outs shops and stopping for a bite to eat in random places!

So the Curl Crush event was a lot of fun; there was such a great turnout! I really haven't gone to many meet-ups, (they're usually far away, and I'm a home-body to be honest...) but I was interested in this one in-particular because they had something planned that I had never heard of before! A "Speed-Dating" for Natural Hair, lol! Basically individuals had one minute to speak with each other, one-on-one, about natural hair care, tips, advice... really anything! (I think Chubs and Filipe happened to make their way into one of my conversations, lol!) And once the minute was over, they yelled "switch" and you would move on to the next person!
Curly Girl Collective TeamI thought this was a great idea, especially for us "introverts" who need some sort of structure in order to open-up. It was an awesome way for people to meet each other. Sometimes at big events, it can be hard to meet new people. It's more comfortable to hang with the people you already know, and you can find yourself in the same corner with your group of friends for the entire night. So I thought this was a great way to break up those groups and get everyone out of their comfort-zone, and mingling and interacting with new people!

All-in-all, I had a great experience! And it was soooooo much fun meeting all of you in person! You guys are so sweet and so friggin' funny! Although we communicate over the internet, I still feel like I know you guys, so it's definitely not weird to come up and say hi; I love meeting you all!

There were so many familiar faces as well! Bloggers, vloggers, company owners, salon owners... it was quite the event! So if you missed it this time, definitely make sure to catch the next Curly Girl Collective event. I can tell these women take a lot of time and put a lot of effort into what they do, so I'm sure the next one wil be just as great, if not better!

Woo, it was a long day to go on 3 hours of sleep! I got in this morning at 5am, so I'm just going to relax for the rest of the day! To those of you that I met yesterday, it was so great meeting you all!! I'll talk to you guys later!!
